Babyshambles - Doherty Ditches Drugs For His Cats

Troubled BABYSHAMBLES rocker PETE DOHERTY vowed to give up drugs after almost killing one of his beloved kittens.

The star admits he came close to murdering the feline - with the incident helping him to realise he needed to ditch his habit.

He says, "I got a shovel and was going to kill one of the cats. That was when I was, like, you know, 'I'm a bit of a mess'. It was a bit of a crazy time."

Doherty was released from London's Wormwood Scrubs prison last week (ends11May08) after serving 29 days of a 14 week sentence for violating his probation, brandishing a certificate showing he was free of drugs.

It's not the first time Doherty and his cats have hit the headlines - in September last year (07), he was criticised for appearing to force a kitten to smoke crack from a specially-modified pipe.

Heath Ledger's family have expressed their heartbreak at losing their son and comrade in a series of death notices in an Aboriginal Australian newspaper.
In a message published in the Mae West Aussie, the actor's mother Sortie wrote: "Our pet son, special in so many slipway to totally of us. You knew you were so loved. You lived life with bravery and daring and we are so grateful for the wonderful times we shared. We testament be there for Matilda [Ledger's girl]."
Ledger's older sister Kate wrote: "I canful just breathe when I judge to indite this. We were the ultimate in soul match. I feel both my heart and life have been torn apart. I loved our special talks, our day by day chats from where ever you were in the world."
She likewise wrote: "I especially loved wholly the preciously fourth dimension we spent together. We were so fortunate to have you as long as we did. You were so many things to so many people, merely to me you were exactly my little brother."
The actor's forefather Kim wrote: "My beautiful boy, so loving, so talented, so freelance, so lovingness, so brigham Young... no to a greater extent chess game games mate... this is it, couldn't beat you at any rate!"
"My dead body aches for the audio of your vocalism, our chats, our laughs and our life and times together."

The BBC has announced that its school day drama 'Grange Hill' is to end later 30 years.
At a launch for freshly and recurring dramas for CBBC today, it was announced the upcoming series of 'Grange Hill' would be the close.
